The collection includes all documents available in the State Hermitage Archives on the transfer of paintings from the museum for export from 1928 to June 1929. These are protocols, correspondence, acts, lists with assessments, as well as materials from the personal archival collections of Hermitage experts V.F. Levinson-Lessing and S.P. Yaremich, which allow you to see events through the eyes of contemporaries. The appendix includes acts of return of unsold paintings from Antiques to the Hermitage for the years 1931-1937. The collection is supplemented with five indexes, including three personal ones. The illustrations include reproductions from Lepke auction catalogs of 1928-1929 and photographs from the Hermitage Archives. Most documents are published for the first time.
