Lopoukh decided to leave his native forest when he was already over three hundred. The age for a goblin is not yet old, but it is no longer young either. You will think more than once before you leave your home. So Lopoukh kept thinking and doubting, and came to the point where there were almost no goblins, but even hares left in the area. But it seemed that just recently, some hundred years ago, the local forests were filled with life. On warm July nights, the groves resounded with the laughter of dryads playing hide and seek with young goblin. Over the mirror surface of the sleeping lake, mermaids danced in circles, and merry bands of forest demons and kikimors, laughing and hooting, went to the road to scare belated travelers.
