The monograph, based on various sources, explores the personal and business qualities of N. S. Khrushchev, the degree of his participation in the activities of the Moscow Party Committee and the Politburo, relations with people who favorably influenced his career growth - L. M. Kaganovich and I. V. Stalin. To understand the peculiarities of the work of the Moscow party organization and its 1st secretary N. S. Khrushchev in 1937, the central political campaigns of 1935–1936 were analyzed, as well as one of the scandalous events of the second half of 1936 - the suicide of a candidate for members of the bureau of the MK VKP(b) V. Ya. Furer, who dared to write a suicide letter to the Central Committee of the party. The February-March plenum of the Central Committee of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks in 1937 determined the main directions of activity of the party organization, which are the focus of the study. In particular, the campaign for elections to party bodies, as well as the features of personnel policy for the exclusion, recruitment, training and promotion of party cadres in 1937. In addition, the participation of party officials in repressions, their relationship with the military and internal authorities, whose representatives are always shown were part of the bureau of the Moscow Party Committee.
