The book by Marina Anatolyevna Bekhtereva (great-granddaughter of the great Russian scientist, academician Vladimir Mikhailovich Bekhterev) tells about the life of V. M. Bekhterev in the circle of his family and about the fate of his children, whom she knew closely. The author refutes the “facts” stated by some writers, journalists and others who wrote and made films about the scientist and which, in her opinion, distorted the history of the family. The book is written based on the author’s memoirs about life together with the children of Vladimir Mikhailovich in his house on Kamenny Island in Leningrad (St. Petersburg). Most of the presented photographs and documents from the family archive have never been published before. The topic of the mysterious death of V. M. Bekhterev, which to this day remains “a secret behind seven seals,” is also touched upon. Perhaps those who study this tragedy will find the key to the age-old historical mystery in the text of the book “between the lines” and put forward new versions of the crime.
