The phenomenon of the sun's halo has influenced the history of mankind, the formation of the cultural traditions of the peoples of the world since the Bronze Age, perhaps earlier. The sun's halo often foreshadows natural and climatic anomalies (sharp cold snaps, heat waves). A series of halos may be harbingers of a climate catastrophe or emergency. Combined with a change in the 11-year cycle of solar activity, halos may accompany unexpected climate change in regions of the Earth. The phenomenon has not been fully studied. A full study is hampered by the determination of meteorologists about optical illusions and ice crystals in troposphere. The definition cannot explain a similar halo of the sun in space, often visible in the web camera from the ISS orbit. Or a halo of stars, similar to the halo of the sun, visible from the Hubble orbital telescope.
