The Ganges is a river sacred to every Indian. Each of them takes a bath in it at least once in his life, washing away sins and cleansing his soul. Ganga is the name of a girl born at the source of the sacred river. She fell in love with a city youth, but envious and greedy people tried to block up the clear stream of her love with stones and throw mud. The novel “Three Brothers” depicts the life of three brothers who, by the will of fate, were separated. After the elder brother got married, the two younger ones ran away from home. All three met twelve years later in the courtroom, when one of them, Govind, was accused of a murder he did not commit. Love, kindness, sacrifice, perseverance in achieving a goal, the realization of one’s personality unites all three brothers, different in character, against greed , injustice, meanness and atrocities. The events of the action-packed novel take place against the backdrop of the colorful life of the Indian metropolis of Bombay.
