This story tells about an Azerbaijani girl who grew up in a Muslim environment. From childhood, the heroine faces many difficulties and disappointments, and as she grows up, the feeling of her own uselessness and rejection only intensifies. One day she meets an attractive Christian British man and, despite her mother's warnings, marries him and moves to distant Kenya. Very soon she learns that the man who became her husband is in fact a despotic tyrant.
