This is a memoir book by Anna Tyutcheva, the eldest and beloved daughter of the poet Fyodor Tyutchev, who spent nearly 13 years at court (1853–1866). This court lady was superior in intelligence and education to many people around her. She had her own view on the most important events of that era and was not afraid to express it; in addition, she listened to what was being said in different layers of society, and her notes, in a certain sense, are a barometer of public opinion. Her memoirs and diary - smart, sincere, insightful and endlessly interesting - have long deserved the highest praise. The text of the diaries and memoirs is published according to the publication: Tyutcheva A.F. At the court of two emperors. Memories. Diary. 1853–1855. M., 1928 and Tyutcheva A.F. At the court of two emperors. Diary. 1855–1882. M., 1929. (Translation by E.V. Guerrier, notes by S.V. Bakhrushin.) Memoirs of A.F. Tyutcheva's diaries are published in full; diaries (completely preserved for 1850–1859 and in minor fragments for earlier or later years) are published with abbreviations.
