The revolutionary events of 1917 led to the destruction of the foundations of Russian statehood, part of which was left by the Russian imperial army. However, the Bolsheviks, who took power into their own hands, very quickly encountered armed resistance. Civil war broke out in the country. To win it, it was necessary to create a new revolutionary army, which became the Workers' and Peasants' Red Army, which passed the test of maturity in the daring conditions of the fratricidal struggle. As the army grew, so did its commanders. They came from various social strata: nobles and workers, bourgeois and military. They managed to provide a worthy rebuff to their opponents and preserve statehood in Russia. In the next book you will learn about how the revolution fought, what its commanders were like, whose names occupy a worthy place on the pages of Russian history.
