During a scientific expedition off the coast of Guatemala, led by famous travelers and adventurers Sam and Remy Fargo, a powerful earthquake occurred. Many regions of the mountainous country were cut off from civilization due to landslides and rockfalls. Fargo, using their considerable financial resources, immediately rushed to the rescue. During a difficult mountain trek, the couple discovered a fresh cleft in the rock - tremors exposed the entrance to some cave. And it contained... one of the Mayan codices, perfectly preserved and striking in its completeness. Sam and Remy decided to take the invaluable document with them to study it later and then give it to the Guatemalan government. But people far from scientific interests become aware of the unique find. And the hunt begins for the Fargo family...
