The biography of Major General N. A. Kolosov (1909-1993) is closely connected with the armed forces of our country. In the 1930s, he stood at the origins of the formation of tank forces of the Red Army, and with the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, at the highest level, he resolved issues of their reform and combat training in connection with new tasks. As part of the active army, he took part in the battles for the liberation of Poland and East Prussia. After the war, N.A. Kolosov worked politically in the Soviet army, and later became the first director of the Battle of Borodino panorama museum. The author's life path, full of bright events and interesting meetings, and his skill as a storyteller allowed him to create an interesting, informative book about the Soviet country during difficult periods of its history.
