This last collection of Susan Sontag's essays published during her lifetime includes more than forty texts written and published from 1982 to 2001. It is a series of seemingly disparate critical works, united in three sections: “Reading,” in which Sontag affirms new literary canons - the works of Machado de Assiz and Robert Walser, and “Looking,” in which the writer gives insightful and expressive comments about photography and cinema, and “There and Here” - a series of notes dedicated to reflection on the topic of one’s own creative path. But as you read, Sontag’s texts, invariably emotional and lyrical, form a single picture of her unique vision of the world of art and her place in it. The publishing layout of the book is saved in PDF A4 format.
