The book is dedicated to the history of the heroic battle for Leningrad, its significance in the Great Patriotic War. It examines Hitler's barbaric plans for the destruction of Leningrad and its inhabitants, the reasons for the collapse of these plans, describes the military operations of the Soviet armed forces in the defense of the city and their offensive actions, which ended in the defeat of Hitler's troops besieging Leningrad; reflects the role of I.V. Stalin, K.E. Voroshilov, G.K. Zhukov in the defense of Leningrad. The book tells in detail about Leningrad before the blockade and the situation of Leningraders in the blockaded city, their tragic situation and heroic work in the interests of the defense of Leningrad. The book shows that Leningrad survived and won not only thanks to the heroism of Leningraders and their defenders, but also the constant assistance of the country, which came to the besieged city in winter and summer along the Ladoga Road of Life and the Victory Road, which had no analogues in world history. The book is based on new documents and literature, as well as the author’s own research on the history of the Battle of Leningrad.
