The construction and fate of the cruiser “Admiral Kornilov” constitutes a particularly interesting page in the history of domestic shipbuilding and the fleet. It was assumed that it would become a standard for the construction of similar ships on its own in Russia. It was built at the time of national statehood, when apparent stability was established and everything promised success and prosperity for many decades. In shipbuilding, this was a special era of the undivided rule of the Maritime Department of Admiral I.A. Shestakova. Admiral General Alexey Alexandrovich completely entrusted to him the right to “reign and own” the entire fleet.
