Inscriptions in the Mayan language were discovered several hundred years ago, but they were read only recently. And if it were not for the research talent of several scientists, including our compatriot Yuri Knorozov, the Mayan language would probably remain a mystery to this day. The story of this amazing decipherment is told by Mayan archaeologist Michael Ko, a professor at Harvard University. Ko personally knew Knorozov and did a lot to popularize his work back during the Iron Curtain.
