IMPORTANT NOTE: Though it was derived from an intriguing sub-plot in the Kirov Series novels by John Schettler, this book stands as a complete novel on its own, and can be read without having to first read the many volumes of that series. (Though if you haven't, you may enjoy that ride!) The author has opened with 6 chapters that appeared early in the Kirov Series (Book 7) to make new readers familiar with the origins of the tale, and then the remainder of the book, another 30 chapters, is 98% new material, available to readers for the first time here, and only here in this volume. The story will also advance the mystery of the Keyholders that runs through the Kirov Series, and present important clues as to what will happen in that narrative. As such, this volume should be considered an essential book in the series, and will be designated Volume 32. Prime Meridian will now be moved to Volume 33, the Season 5 Premier on Oct 1, 2017.

As a special edition, the novel also does double duty to stand as Volume I in the Keyholder's Saga, which will continue with more similar adventures following these characters, visiting other famous battlefields to continue their deadly game.

About this story:Sir Roger Ames, the Duke of Elvington, is a very special man. It is not only the position he has attained, a modern British Peer of the Realm, nor the power and wealth that come with such favors, for Sir Roger is a member of a most select club—a small group known only as “The Keyholders.” On the eve of a great war in the year 2021, Sir Roger uses his strange key to take a most interesting journey. The Duke and his Footman, Ian Thomas, will soon arrive on the eve of one of history’s most dramatic and decisive battles—Waterloo. But they have not gone there to be simple spectators. Instead, they join the fray, as Sir Roger does battle with his nemesis, one Jean Michel Fortier, another member of the same elite circle, and a long-time rival of the Duke. Now the two men struggle to manipulate the history of the Waterloo Campaign in a deadly game that has fateful repercussions for that time, and the distant future ahead. As such, this story presents a detailed and exciting alternate history depiction of the entire Waterloo campaign, from the first crossing of the Sambre at Charleroi, to the fateful battles on the Field of Glory that decided the issue.
