I spend every summer in the small village of Aksinino, near Zvenigorod. One day I heard a story about a girl from a neighboring village who was trying to visit her neighbor’s grandmother. It would seem, what's wrong with that? However, everyone was up in arms against the girl: her parents, who believed that she was wasting her time, and her friends, who saw no point in visiting an elderly stranger. The girl rebelled, but her parents insisted: she should not waste time on something that, in their opinion, she could easily do without. After some time, the elderly neighbor died. I was shocked by this story. She lived in me for a long time, and little by little the heroes began to come to me at night: Alena, Lidia Matveevna, Vik and, of course, Angelina. That’s how this book came about - about who needs help, about why and how to offer it, and why is it so important for ourselves to help each other. For middle and high school age (12+)
