The action of the book “Friends of the Controller” is described in the near future. At first, the events take place in the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant Exclusion Zone, but then they are transferred to a parallel world similar to ours. The work tells how the main character Alexey Voropaev, nicknamed Meat, hiding in the Zone from his former business partners, ends up in a gangster community, and then into the unenviable service of a local merchant. He then comes to the attention of the intelligence services, and they involve him in their operation to free the hostages from the swamp controller. While completing the task, the hero and his comrades find themselves in a parallel world where there is no Zone, where the main actions of the book take place. Here he meets representatives of other worlds who want to enslave this universe, and enters into confrontation with them. And at the same time he finds his Love. The work can be described in other words: The main character, who has lost himself and his soul, completely mired in cruelty and blood, in the course of completing a joint task, finds the meaning of life in love for a girl, finds himself again, and understands that he has something to fight for. The narrative style also changes along with the protagonist’s worldview, and a transition is made to the artistic.
