Mr. Monk is horrified when he learns that there will be some kind of “blue flu” in San Francisco. But Captain Stottlemyer explains to him that this is just a code name for a strike by police officers, who all at once pledged not to go to work due to poor health until the terms of their work contract are changed for the better. Of course, while there is no one to work in the police, Monk can to regain his former title, but then he would be a traitor. And while he has not yet understood this, the badge is returned to him and he is given command of an entire detachment. Together, these fighters must solve the murder of an astrologer, a series of fatal attacks and, most importantly, clean up their workplace.
