The Garden of the Gods is a sequel to My Family and Other Beasts—“a book that is literally spellbinding” (Sunday Times) and “the most delightful idyll imaginable” (The New Yorker) and “ Birds, animals and relatives”, as well as the collection “Holidays, animals and other absurdities”. With unfailing love, impeccable accuracy and inimitable humor, Durrell talks about the five-year stay of his family (including his older brother Larry, that is, Lawrence Durrell - the future author of the famous “Alexandria Quartet”) on the Greek island of Corfu.
