The volume contains nine articles related to the research “The Tale of Mityai”. The first three are theoretical. They talk about the appearance in Eastern Europe in the 14th century. two new peoples - Turks and Great Russians; about hesychasm and its influence on Rus'; about the Orthodox revival in Eastern Europe in the 14th century. as a phenomenon parallel to the Western European Renaissance. The second three articles are devoted to three Old Russian manuscripts associated with the characters of the “Tale”: the famous Laurentian Chronicle, the Menea of Service for the month of December with the Service to Metropolitan Peter and his Life, and the Service Book with the Instructions to the newly deceased priest. The last three are dictionary entries about three characters in the Tale: Metropolitan Alexei, Dionysius of Suzdal and Metropolitan Cyprian. The volume is intended for people who are interested in the facts of history and how they are obtained, and who are ready to reflect on them.
