Twenty-nine-year-old Jess follows her dream and moves to London. It's December and she's renting a room in an ancient but gorgeous house in Notting Hill - sharing it with four virtual strangers. On her first night at her landlord's Christmas dinner, Jess meets Alex, the guy who lives on her floor. They don't even kiss, but as far as Jess can tell, the connection is obvious. She begins planning how they will break down the wall between them so they can spend more time together.

But when Jess returns from her two-week Christmas holiday, she discovers that Alex has started dating someone else - the beautiful Emma, who lives on the floor above. Now Jess has to spend a year facing (and damn, sharing a bathroom with) the man of her dreams... and the woman of her dreams.
