A travelogue by the Serbian modernist writer, one of the founders of Yugoslav surrealism, Rastko Petrovich, written based on the results of his travels through colonial West Africa in the winter of 1928–1929. Having traveled several thousand kilometers through the jungles and savannas of present-day Senegal, Côte d'Ivoire, Burkina Faso and Mali, he left vivid and poetic notes about wonderful people, their dances, songs and customs, about his meetings with amazingly beautiful girls and boys , with kings, priests, witches, cannibals and lepers. The book is illustrated with the author’s drawings and photographs. “Due to circumstances, I could no longer perceive my surroundings as an ordinary traveler. At some point, Africa pulled me into itself, exposing before me its pulse, the beating of dark hot blood, a heart, different in appearance from ours, and it, gloomy and heavy - heavier than its land, and more wounded and hostile, than her sky, accepted me.” The publishing layout of the book is saved in PDF A4 format.
