Medieval Europe. Murderers and robbers, the Grossbart brothers set off on a journey from German lands to the south, escaping the wrath of the locals and hoping to get rich. The Grossbart family has been plundering graves for several generations, and the brothers intend to glorify themselves and their ancestors by reaching the legendary crypts of Gypt. To get there, they will have to pass through dangerous and unknown lands in the company of a variety of travelers: merchants and murderers, fallen priests and rogues of all stripes. Only the world of the Grossbarts is both familiar to us and infinitely distant: it is a world of living saints and very real demons, a world of monsters, madmen and plague, a world of werewolves, sirens, manticores and monsters that are difficult to describe and even more difficult to name.
