Englishman Anthony Burgess is one of the cult writers of the 20th century. The scandalous novel “A Clockwork Orange” brought him worldwide fame, which caused a huge public outcry and inspired the legendary director Stanley Kubrick to create a film masterpiece of the same name. In a provincial English town of the second half of the 20th century, a tragicomedy of truly Shakespearean proportions is played out. It begins with a piquant double adultery - more precisely, with the fashionable exchange of marriage partners in the “swinging 60s.” A little experiment in the field of free love - why not? However, gradually the obscene anecdote takes on a completely serious character; more and more destinies of the inhabitants of the town - innocent and not so innocent - are drawn into the orbit of the action, breaking and distorting. And soon there was a serious smell of death in the air. And we can only guess: who will the gun from the local pub, owned by William Shakespeare’s distant descendant Ted Arden, shoot at?
