The streets of Caracas, Venezuela, are increasingly in chaos. Protests are raging in the squares of the “most dangerous city in the world,” tear gas is being sprayed near government buildings, and prices for essential goods are rising ungodly. Adelaide Falcon, a once successful publishing employee by local standards, loses loved ones in this anarchy, and her apartment is occupied by looters masquerading as revolutionaries. Adelaide knows her life is in danger too. “Night Falls in Caracas” is a chilling reminder of how quickly the world as we know it can fall apart. It is also a hymn to nostalgia for childhood and love, which forces us to go to the barricades.
