The textbook outlines the history of the Mongol invasion of Rus' in the 13th century. The composition and size of Batu Khan's army are examined, the stages of the Mongol campaigns in Eastern Europe are determined and characterized, and the reasons for the defeat of the Russian principalities in the fight against the conquerors are clarified. The events of the Mongol invasion are analyzed in the context of the entire aggressive policy of the Mongols of the 13th century.
