The Mage and the Fire One disappeared thirteen years ago. Their grown-up daughter, given to the guards to raise her, decides to go in search of her parents, taking her brother with her. But the young people haven’t even taken a step beyond the threshold of the flying castle, and therefore have no idea what awaits them in the snowy world of Mezhgorye. And even though they are ready to help each other to the last, the monsters have become more dangerous, people have become angrier, and they have inherited enemies that even adults could not cope with at one time.
