At the end of 2004, the political life of Ukraine exploded with a hot wave of the “orange” revolution. It united Ukrainians of various nationalities, religions, social status and political views—separated from time immemorial—and led to the victory of the idea of personal freedom in Ukraine. The book tells how the fate of the country was decided over the course of several weeks. The author of the book is historian, journalist and TV presenter Daniil Yanevsky. One of the organizers of the “Power of the People” coalition, Petro Poroshenko, addressed the reader with an introductory speech. The source of information was materials from Channel 5, perhaps the only Ukrainian television channel that, under conditions of severe administrative pressure, conveyed the words of truth to people. The materials are presented in chronological order, up to the inauguration of Viktor Yushchenko on January 23, after which the Ukrainian people condemned themselves to the right to exercise their rights. It was not an easy, but worthy choice of worthy people.
