Retired EMERCOM officer Andrey Sotnikov found the ancient Ignach Cross while fishing in the Novgorod region. It was from him that during the Mongol invasion of Rus', the tumens of Khan Batu turned sharply away, not reaching some 200 versts to Veliky Novgorod. He is transported to the beginning of the 13th century, merging in consciousness and body with his ancient ancestor, a retired centurion of the prince's watch hundred and his namesake Andrei.
