Many years ago, former investigator Stepanov committed an official crime. His good deed, when out of pity he shielded a pregnant accomplice of robbers in the case of stealing rarities from a museum, has now “backfired” with disaster. For twenty years, an antique hourglass and a gold case for a prayer book, received by him as “moral compensation” for his troubles, lay in the investigator’s hiding place, and now the safe was broken into, the valuables disappeared without a trace... Private detective Tatyana Ivanova, invited by Stepanov, discovers on one of the sites on the Internet advertisement: someone offers to buy an antique case for a prayer book. Who stole the museum exhibits from the hiding place - this is what Tatyana Ivanova has to find out.
