One of the seekers, living off the plunder of a lost city, nicknamed Gloomy, is drawn into conflict between traders and officials. The military intervenes in the conflict - as a result, Gloomy ends up in captivity awaiting execution. Having escaped from captivity, he goes to the heart of St. Petersburg, to the mysterious Vaskin Island, in the hope of finding a gate to return to the past and correct his mistakes.
