Edea is a world where the steam age is in full swing. This does not prevent the sorcerers of the Order of the Haldu, who centuries ago defeated the tyrant elves, as before, from pulling the secret strings of the rulers of states, remaining in the shadows. But there are things over which even powerful magicians are powerless. Hordes of savages are ready to fall upon civilization, drowning it in blood. Circumstances chose not the most noble people to save the world: Pulius is a cowardly rogue legionnaire, Denard is a cruel mercenary from the Isthmus and Cassandra is a thief from the capital. All three will have to give up their own principles and throw their lives and the remains of honor onto the wheel of fortune. But is the game worth the candle?
