Sofya Bogatyreva was born into the family of the famous writer Alexander Ivich. She graduated from the Faculty of Philology of Moscow University, studied children's literature and children's creativity, and later on the literature of the Silver Age. Author of books for children and teenagers, more than three hundred articles, studies and essays published in Russian, American and European publications, as well as audiobooks of literary memoirs, based on which three documentary television films were made. Professor at the University of Denver, honorary member of the National Slavic Honor Society (USA). In the book “The Silver Age in Our House” two voices are heard: her father – in stories about the cultural life of St. Petersburg in the tens and twenties, his friends and acquaintances: Alexander Blok, Andrei Bel, Mikhail Kuzmin, Vladislav Khodasevich, Osip Mandelstam, Mikhail Zoshchenko, Alexandra Golovin, about her brother Sergei Bernstein, and her own memories of Boris Pasternak, Anna Akhmatova, Nadezhda Mandelstam, Yuri Olesha, Viktor Shklovsky, Roman Yakobson, Nina Berberova, Lilya Brik - those whom she was lucky enough to meet in her home, where “ everything always happened differently from people.”
