“Everyday English” is the second textbook of the methodological complex intended for in-depth study of the English language by students of humanitarian universities and students of schools and gymnasiums. A brief description of the textbook “Textbook - Reference - Dictionary” reflects its main distinctive feature - a wide range and multi-aspect proposed educational material. Thematic texts, detailed thematic dictionaries, various lexical and speech exercises and dialogues are grouped around topics that are relevant for everyday communication. The textbook presents the following topics: Dating, Family, Appearance and Character, Home, Health, Travel, Food, Shopping, Household services, Rest, Work. The structural construction of each topic maximizes the activation of various types of speech in a variety of communicative conditions, taking into account the addressee and the communication situation. Thematic texts, thematic dictionary, lexical exercises, dialogues, creative tasks, numerous speech exercises of various types are aimed at creating a spontaneous reaction and strong memorization of vocabulary and phraseology. In compiling this manual, the experience of a number of modern foreign and domestic publications was used. The textbook was created at the Department of Foreign Languages of the Institute of International Business and Communication of BSTU, working according to proprietary programs.
