The Basel Art Museum houses a rich collection of paintings by old masters of the 15th–19th centuries - Holbeins, Lucas Cranach the Elder, Matthias Grunewald, Peter Paul Rubens, Rembrandt, impressionist paintings - Paul Cezanne, Paul Gauguin, Pierre Auguste Renoir, Vincent Van Gogh, Edvard Munch, Franz Marc, Egon Schiele and Emil Nolde. In addition, works by German, Swiss and American artists are displayed here. The museum is famous for its collection of works by cubists - Pablo Picasso, Georges Braque and Juan Gris, as well as abstract artist Wassily Kandinsky and surrealist Salvador Dali. Cover: A.
