A book of memories about the wonderful Arkhangelsk family of Anna and Peter Koltsov, about Arkhangelsk in the 30s - early 50s of the XX century" Addressed to everyone who is interested in the history of the city on the Dvina, the way of life of the Arkhangelsk residents of that time.
Tatyana Vnukova (nee Koltsova) Arkhangelsk, 1935. A book about the twenty-year period of life of the city of Arkhangelsk (30-50s) and the family of Pyotr Fedorovich and Anna Ivanovna Koltsov, who lived in house number 100 on Novgorodsky prospectus.
Someone said that “little things in life replace “big events” for us. This is the value of little things, if a person realizes them.” And the memoirs of Tatyana Vnukova are just a document about the daily life of Arkhangelsk residents in the 30-50s of the last century. This is a story about a family who lived on Novgorodsky, in house number 100, a description of the “little things” of life, the atmosphere of school life, the life of shops, the Philharmonic and cinemas. The story about the theater includes assessments by theater critics of that time of the musical design of performances by the book’s author’s father, composer Pyotr Koltsov. The book contains the life story of members of the Koltsov family, a story about the author’s brother, who died in the war just a few days before the Victory, memories of the guests of the “house” on Novgorod": writers Y. German, A. Morozov, K. Konichev, poet A. Yashin, surgeon G. Orlov. I considered it my duty to preserve this fruit of creative thought, to make it accessible, and not only because everything in this book is painfully familiar to me: war, famine, the houses and streets of a wooden city, luxurious post-war films, “taken as a trophy. ..”Such memories affirm our identity, give new life to cultural heritage and ensure its further development. After all, cultural heritage is not a dusty document, but the embodiment of our connection with our ancestors, a vital source from which we draw strength.
