Oleg Demidov (1989) – poet, critic, literary critic, teacher at the Higher School of Economics Lyceum. For many years he has been researching the life and work of Anatoly Mariengof and other imagists. Compiler and commentator on the collected works of Anatoly Mariengof (2013) and Ivan Gruzinov (2016). Anatoly Mariengof (1897–1962) is one of the most prominent modernist writers, a close friend of Sergei Yesenin and the author of the scandalous memoirs about him, “A Novel Without Lies.” For the cult novel “The Cynics” (1928) and “The Shaved Man” (1930), published in the West, he was subjected to devastating criticism and was forced to leave great literature - to playwriting (“The Jester Balakirev”); the book of memoirs “My Age, My Youth, My Friends and Girlfriends” has become a landmark for Russian prose of the twentieth century. “The First Dandy of the Land of Soviets” is the most complete biography of the writer, where many myths are dispelled, previously unknown archival materials, letters and photographs are published, and also living testimonies of people who knew Mariengof. Contains obscene language
