Wojciech Kuczok is a poet, prose writer, film critic, talented stylist and experimenter, the youngest winner of the main Polish literary award “Nike” (2004), received for the novel “Gnoj”. In the center of the work, entitled “ antibiography" and combining the features of a mini-saga and a psychological novel, is the story of a boy beaten and humiliated by his father. This is a novel about hatred, violence and love in a Polish family. The author tries to identify the origins of everyday evil and evaluate its terrible impact on human consciousness. The very artistic fabric of the text - as always with Kuchok - is full of interesting linguistic and stylistic findings.
