The book is based on real events in which the author took part. This is not a memoir or an autobiography. The story is a work of fiction. It tells about the fate of a submariner, both seriously and with salty maritime humor. And it very accurately describes how it was in the life of many naval officers, and what it was like, the service of a submariner.
