Isaac Asimov (1920–1992) - American science fiction writer, popularizer of science, biochemist. Author of about five hundred books, mostly fiction and popular science. Multiple Hugo and Nebula Award winner. Some terms from his works—robotics, positronic, psychohistory—have become firmly established in English and other languages. In the Anglo-American literary tradition, Asimov, along with Arthur C. Clarke and Robert Heinlein, is considered one of the “Big Three” science fiction writers. The second volume includes selected works of the author. Among them there are exciting detective stories, and stories written with subtle and inimitable humor, and classic science fiction stories with a plot based on a witty paradox... And each of them is the best in its own way, since they all belong to the pen of a true master and deservedly are included in the golden fund of world science fiction.
