This monograph is not a textbook, not a reference book, and not a “history of Hellenism.” The author’s task was different - to explore the patterns of the history of Hellenism, to determine the place and significance in the history of ancient slave society, to include it in the general natural process of historical development of the peoples of antiquity. In this sense, the monograph is a work of a philosophical and historical nature, in which a lot of attention is paid to special issues and topics of a problematic nature. The actual history of Hellenism is given quite systematically, and the reader will be able to get a clear idea of the consistent course of the political, economic and cultural history of Hellenism.
