The author of the book is retired counterintelligence officer M.Ya. Ovseenko and his colleagues, in the most difficult conditions of the civil war, carried out the main task of the special departments - suppressing the activities of enemy intelligence agencies and provocations on the southern borders of our country. The author himself was in Afghanistan from 1982 to 1987, of which for two years he was the head of a special department of the 40th Army of the USSR Armed Forces.
