Out of the Gray is an unusual love story between a beautiful neurologist and a social scientist who frantically tries to understand neuroscience before losing his memory due to early-onset Alzheimer's disease. The novel explores the mind, consciousness, morality, memory, the biochemistry of love and happiness, sexuality in all its manifestations, mental illness, and the relationship between artificial and biological consciousness. The origin of God in the human mind is explored to the delight of both those who believe and those who do not believe in anything. The characters have fun, worry and are sad, and all this is presented so witty that even a reader with a heart of stone cannot help but laugh and cry. The juices of life will flow out of the gray and turn into a cosmic cocktail. Manucher Parveen, a man of encyclopedic knowledge, is the author of four previously published books. “Aletophobia” (fear of the truth) is a witty critique of political and scientific freedoms in the United States by an insightful individual. Dardadel: Rumi, Hafiz and Love in New York was very well received by the literary community. His first two highly acclaimed books, Cry My Revolution Iran and Avicenna and Me: A Journey of the Spirit, were recently republished. Parveen has appeared on radio and television around the world, including NBC and PBS, as a science commentator. He founded the Iranian Chess Magazine and can still play chess blindfolded. He believes he continues to improve and says he has more weaknesses than strengths. You can contact him at: www.mparvin.com
