Andrzej Sapkowski (1948, Lodz, Poland) is a Polish science fiction writer and publicist with the talent to create absolutely original works that not only capture the reader’s attention, but touch his soul. The author’s works have been published in Czech, Russian, German, Spanish, Finnish, Lithuanian, French, English, Portuguese, Bulgarian, Belarusian, Italian, Swedish, Serbian, Ukrainian and Chinese. According to publishers, Sapkowski is one of the five most published authors in Poland. The writer himself, as a rule, does not talk about the circulation of his books... The first volume of the author’s selected works includes the saga about Geralt “The Witcher” - one of the best fantasy sagas in the entire history of the genre. An original, large-scale epic work, at the same time free from outside influence, and associated with the classical mythological, legendary and fairy tale tradition. The unusual, beautiful and cruel world of literary legend literally comes to life before the reader, inhabited by elves, gnomes, werewolves, vampires, dragons and monsters—but above all people. Very close to us, understandable and humane people - such as the sword master witcher Geralt, his friend, the dissolute minstrel Dandelion, his beloved, the beautiful sorceress Yennefer, and his adopted daughter - the recklessly brave young Ciri... Contents: The Road of No Return The Last Wish The Sword of Destiny The Blood of the Elves The Hour of Contempt The Baptism of Fire Tower of the Swallow The Lady LakesSomething ends, something beginsSeason of thunderstorms
