It is no longer news that the official history of Russia, from about the 17th century, from the time of the establishment of the “Roman-Germanic yoke” (Prince N. S. Trubetskoy), was composed like a kind of horror story, a “black legend” (L. N. Gumilyov). It is known that this history course, constructed mainly by foreign historians, describes the ancestors of the majority of modern Russians and citizens of the CIS countries - especially Russians and Tatars - as a rule, in an extremely unsightly form, and portrays representatives of Western European countries mainly as “positive heroes.” It is clear why we, Russians, have a similar “history”: after all, it was, in fact, composed by the successors of the work of medieval Catholic missionaries - foreign political agents - for the convenience of carrying out a kind of colonization of the territories of Eurasia, “which until the 18th century in the works of European geographers it was called Tataria” (L. N. Gumilyov)… But, as we will see in this book, a lot reveals the authors of the Black Legend - they did not manage to hide and “cleanse” everything from the history of our Fatherland...
