Semyon Yakovlevich Unkovsky (1788–1882) - graduate of the Naval Cadet Corps, sent to serve in the English fleet as a midshipman, participated in a number of naval battles, was captured by the French, and released after the Peace of Tilsit. In 1813–1816. participated in a circumnavigation of the world on the ship "Suvorov", upon retirement he settled in the village, where he wrote his notes. Most of them are a story about the expedition of M. P. Lazarev, carried out on instructions from the board of the Russian-American Company. On the way to the shores of Alaska, the expedition discovered the Suvorov Islands, explored Russian colonies and, having completed the voyage around South America, delivered rich materials to Russia. The analysis of the directions of Russia's trade policy and the “forecast of the historical development of the world economy” made by the memoirist are noteworthy. The book contains a name and geographical index, notes, a dictionary of maritime and less commonly used terms, and a bibliography.
