The Gestapo sent Edith Hahn, an educated Viennese girl, to the ghetto and then turned her into a slave in a labor camp. Returning home, she realized that persecution awaited her and decided to go into hiding. Thanks to a Christian friend, Edith settled in Munich under the name of Greta Denner. There, Nazi Party member Werner Vetter fell in love with her. Despite the fact that Edith stubbornly refused and even admitted that she was Jewish, Werner decided to marry her and kept her real name a secret. Despite the danger to her life, Edith managed to collect written evidence of the era, some of which you will find in this book . She saved hundreds of documents - even photographs taken in labor camps. Now this collection is kept in the Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington and, together with Edith’s story, gives us a new chapter in the history of the Holocaust - yes, sad, even unbearably sad, but still with a good ending.
