For the first time in our homeland, the memoirs of the world-famous mechanical scientist of the 20th century, one of the founders of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Stepan Prokofievich Timoshenko (1878 - 1972) are being published. In the book, which was first published in Russian in Paris in 1963, the author describes his life, scientific, pedagogical and scientific-organizational activities in his homeland until 1920 and in emigration, including from 1922 to 1964 in the USA. “Memoirs” of S.
