Valentin Viktorovich Lavrov (born 1935) is a Russian writer, literary critic, bibliophile, author of the book “Cold Autumn. Ivan Bunin in Emigration”, a number of historical novels and detective stories that have won all-Russian fame, compiler of the fundamental anthology “Literature of Russian Abroad” ( 1990).The title story of the collection, “The Hatred of a Leader and the Love of a Robber,” reveals previously unknown details of one of the most notorious criminal cases of the early 20th century - an attack on the car of the Chairman of the Council of People’s Commissars, Vladimir Lenin, by a group of armed raiders led by Yakov Koshelkov. The book is illustrated by one of the best Modern graphic artists by Natalya Leonova.
